Dr. Meghan Denney graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in animal science then obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Ross University. She completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University.

When your pet comes to Four Paws, your veterinarian is supported by licensed veterinary technicians, experienced veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, surgery coordinators, ultrasound coordinators and client service professionals who all play a role in your pet’s care.
From assisting with diagnostics and monitoring anesthesia to caring for hospitalized patients and helping clients understand treatment plans, there is an entire team working behind the scenes for your pet.
What Is a Licensed Veterinary Technician?
You may notice the letters LVT after several of our team members’ names. LVT stands for Licensed Veterinary Technician.
An LVT has completed an accredited veterinary technology education program, passed required credentialing examinations and maintains professional licensure and continuing education requirements.
Our LVTs work alongside our veterinarians and may be involved in anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, blood collection, diagnostic testing, radiographs, dentistry, hospitalized patient care, treatments, low-stress handling and client education.
When you see LVT beside a team member’s name, it represents education, clinical training, credentialing and an ongoing commitment to veterinary medicine.
Experience Matters Too
Not every highly skilled veterinary technician is licensed. Several members of our team have years of hands-on veterinary experience and advanced responsibilities within our hospital.
We value both formal education and the years of clinical experience our team members bring to patient care.
Specialized Roles Within Our Team
Surgery Coordinators — Help keep surgical care organized from beginning to end, working alongside our veterinarians with surgical preparation, anesthesia, patient monitoring, recovery and communication.
Ultrasound Coordinators — Help our doctors with the preparation, organization and technical aspects of diagnostic ultrasound while helping keep patients comfortable.
Lead Veterinary Technicians — Bring extensive clinical experience while helping train and mentor our technical team and maintain our medical standards and protocols.
Every Role Matters
Your veterinarian may be the person diagnosing your pet and directing the medical plan, but there is an entire team helping carry that plan out.

Veterinarians
I graduated from University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and opened a small animal hospital in Houston in 1985. I grew up in Decatur, Illinois, but headed to Texas the day after graduation to start practicing in Houston.
